ABOUT JOÃO MESSIAS

In 2019 Waymo acquired Latent Logic, an Oxford-based startup in the field of AV simulation tech, of which I was CTO and cofounder. I currently work at Waymo UK on the topic of simulation.Prior to this endeavour, I had leading roles in the technical integration of international research projects on the general topics of robotics and applied artificial intelligence.My research background includes- Learning from demonstration, reinforcement learning, and decision-theoretic planning for robotics and control, with an emphasis on partially observable decision-making- Cooperative multi-agent decision-making- Mobile robot navigation (motion control, localization), modeling, and sensor fusion;
