I have had a diverse career experience- I started off as an Android developer with some responsibilities to help with the backend in.NET- Later on I moved to a website development company where I was the lead backend engineer mostly working with PHP content management systems- After that I moved to Matic which is a product-based company. Here I was able to progress my career from a mid-level software engineer to VP of Engineering.Writing code has always been my passion. Programming for me is about- adding value to the business by building features that fulfill business objectives- writing code that is easily maintainable and scalable by implementing SOLID principles, Design Patterns, DRY and KISS principles- prioritizing logging and error handling from the get-goI am also adept in other aspects of my work like code review, managing a team, learning new technologies, integrating with 3rd party services, DevOps, etc. Being a software engineer, especially while leading a team, is much more than just code; I - work closely with my team- architect solutions- collaborate with other tech teams and departments from the company- understand business value- deliver stable features in small releases- document when necessary- detect and resolve bottlenecks- delegate as much as possible- communicate effectively and efficiently

   I started working in Matic as a mid-level Software Engineer to handle the backend part of the product which was mostly in PHP. After my probation period I was promoted to Senior Software Engineer.We were faced with the challenge of completely revamping our infrastructure. I worked together with an outsourced DevOps solution team to achieve that which gave me a really in-depth experience in DevOps. I remained the head of DevOps team after that under the supervision of the CTO.Meanwhile, our team was growing, so I was asked to manage a few team members. Soon after that I was promoted to Tech Lead to manage one of the agile teams. In this position, I had to work closely with the Product Manager to plan the roadmap for the new features and the coming quarters. Of course, managing the team and making sure they stay motivated and we produce results in a timely manner was my highest priority. I also worked closely with the Operations and Marketing departments to ensure the success of the features we were responsible for.Post Covid, like most companies, ours was affected, too. We were left with a very small team in the Tech department. To keep the product and the company alive, I was promoted to Head of Engineering of our SaaS. We switched our development to maintenance mode. We survived this period by ensuring the availability of the system and adding small but critical features.After staying in the maintenance mode for roughly three years, we were finally able to move forward with a new vision of rebuilding the team, revive software development efforts in Tech and all of this with my new title of VP of Engineering.
