ABOUT JUTTA BENZENBERG

Jutta Benzenberg is a photographer living and working in both Germany and Albania. Together with her husband, the Albanian intellectual and writer Ardian Klosi, she documented numerous journeys through Albania, resulting in photographic publications such as Albanisches Überleben, Ahead with the Past, Sombre Beauty, and God in Albania. These works offer profound insights into the country and its people. Her current work focuses on survivors of the communist dictatorship and the everyday life of the Albanian population. Years of working in the region have given her trusted access and a strong network across political, cultural, and religious spheres. In addition to her personal projects, she regularly undertakes commissioned work for international development organizations including GIZ, UNICEF, UNDP, and others. She is represented by Fotohof Salzburg. Her work has been exhibited throughout Europe and in the United States.
