Assisting in the scale-up from the pilot line (UK) to full-scale manufacturing (US), ensuring processes, equipment, and materials meet scalability requirements. Assisting trials on supplier machines to evaluate performance and suitability before selecting the optimal equipment for factory implementation. Assisted in the specification, ordering and development of bespoke isostatic press. Leading post-purchase meetings and follow-up discussions to ensure successful instrument construction, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), commissioning, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).Leading the development of new sealing methods for the separator subassembly.Developing processes for manufacturing Na-ion conducting ceramic battery separators. Focusing on optimising production repeatability. Driving costs down by developing alternative synthesis and sintering methods. Finding alternative suppliers and assisting in the procurement and testing of new raw materials to drive costs down but keep the same quality.Collaborating with internal cross-functional R&D and product engineering teams to satisfy technical requirements (dimensions, shape, thickness, conductivity) and reach a common goal for the sodium metal halide battery system.Contributing to the drafting and submission of patent applications for innovative ceramic processes and technologies. Writing technical paperwork and preparing regular technical presentations for the R&D team.Technical go-to person for any ceramics-related issues in production. Identifying and troubleshooting production-related issues (material handling, forming, firing, post-firing inspection, subassembly production).Responsible for overlooking the QC team working on material characterisation and analysis results. Responsible for the XRD analysis and overlooking the equipment. Trained and appointed as the company’s Radiation Protection Supervisor and Health & Safety Representative.
