Why I do, what I do: After graduating with my MBA, I found myself at a decision point. Continue down a highly successful and lucrative “known” path or take a calculated risk and investigate a “new” path. I opted for the adventure! I set out on a challenging and emotional journey where some opportunities would present themselves disguised in sheep\'s clothing. Only with the aid of hindsight would I finally understand I had been \"re-directed\" at each painful turn. A snapshot of my journey: • June 2017: I founded 2 Peak Velocity, LLC - a \"boutique\" consultancy designed to specifically help startup entrepreneurs identify and execute actionable sales strategies to increase (or generate) revenue. Takeaway: If you think working with Fortune 500 accounts is challenging - try working with startups! • November 2017 - alska: Connected Caregiving pitch\'s at Gopher Angels meeting (think \"mini\" Shark Tank) where local startups pitch for investment from local angel investors. Takeaway: NO INVESTMENT - I just didn\'t get the value proposition! • May 2018 - My wife (Julie) requested I read a manuscript she had been working on for the last few years as she prepared to have it published. Thinking the book revolved around the pain, grief, and sense of loss she felt from the death of her mother from cancer nine years ago - I wasn\'t excited. Takeaway 1: Wow! Talk about life-altering \"Ah-Ha\" moments! Two things happened 1.) Achieve a new level of love and respect for my wife 2.) A shift from ignorance to enlightenment - empathy for the caregiver! Takeaway 2: Caregiving was NOT what I \"thought\" it was. I had been a close-minded idiot! Takeaway 3: The pitch from alska: Connected Caregiving suddenly “clicked.” Time to reach out to alska: Connected Caregiving and my new adventure!
