About Justin Nelson

Justin Nelson is a senior out of Arizona State University studying business law. His passion for justice and the desire to help people has driven him to pursue a career in business law with an interest in working within the Sports Business field. Justin’s journey into Sports Business started when he worked for the Arizona Cardinals during their 20••••23 season as a Game Day Operations intern. During the season, he worked every home game both at the tailgate outside, and with the concessions team inside the stadium during the games. After tracking orders and fulfillments and managing dozens of transactions, Justin gained customer service and organizational skills. He also helped manage a team of 10 interns during the setup and cleanup of the kitchen and register areas. This helped him learn how to keep accountability for himself and his team so that a certain task would be completed during and after every shift. During his second semester of freshman year, Justin rushed Alpha Kappa Psi, one of the professional business fraternities at Arizona State. During his pledging semester, he gained a lot of professional experience like how to write professional emails, how to interview and be interviewed, how to work with a team, and how to meet deadlines. He served on the finance committee during his rush semester and helped navigate and plan the 31st annual AZAFAP picnic for foster children and families with over 400 in attendance. After being inducted as an active member, he has served on multiple committees including rush and risk management committee. While on rush committee, Justin learned how to advertise the fraternity to get people interested in joining and planned 2 events during rush week that each had around 100 people in attendance. When he was on risk management committee, he would have weekly meetings with the other committee members to see if any other Alpha Kapp Psi’s members broke any of the bylaws. This inspired him to run for Judicial Chairman, the head of the risk management committee. As Judicial Chairman, Justin holds weekly meetings and sets goals for his committee and chapter. Through joining Alpha Kappa Psi and interning with the Arizona Cardinals, the experience and growth that Justin had will greatly prepare him for future roles in the legal department. He hopes to keep developing professionally to excel in any future positions he holds.
