Thanks for stopping by my LinkedIn Page!I\'m Justin, the Admissions Director and resident \"VA Guy\" for Star V Learning Centers!My life has been a series of varied experiences leading me to where I am today, and I guess a life worth living is a life worth writing a LinkedIn Bio about! I started my professional development in Central Florida when I went to college for finance at Stetson University, learning how to value stocks and bonds. Turns out this wasn\'t all that interesting, so I joined the Navy where I would have the opportunity to run Nuclear Reactors on board a submarine for a few years! They say \"Join the Navy, see the world!\" and while I mostly saw the inside of a submarine and Kings Bay Georgia, I still had the most unique experience I\'ve had in my life so far, being able to build a submarine in dry dock, and launch it back out to see after years of non-operation. I was a QA planner, I wrote work packages for SubSafe Systems, did hydrostatic testing on equipment, and I trained the next generation of craftsman and quality assurance workers to carry the reigns as I left. Getting to sleep 500 feet underwater for a few months really makes you appreciate solid ground!After the Navy I started working in my current job with Star V. I was recruited as a student on the way out of the Navy, and then joined our Admissions team where I was responsible for helping veterans determine their next career step as they bare the weight of military transition. While working in Admissions I created the Star V SkillBridge program, and now almost a decade later it\'s one of the only IT oriented SkillBridge programs in Northeast Florida! Being able to partner with the DOD to benefit our transition mission has allowed me to help veterans from all over the world transition as they return back stateside. Now nearing a decade with Star V I run our Admissions team as the Admissions Director. Being able to help start an organization, grow the organization in novel ways, and lead development as we grow our physical footprint in the US has given me a strong bond with my current role. I grew up with this company, and nothing is more satisfying than getting to see a ten year project bear dividends, while maintaining the same community help that allowed your growth to begin with. Star V has emerged from the ashes of the former New Horizons to continue providing career paths to the people of Jacksonville! I\'m happy to have been here for the ride, and nothing is more impactful than helping to develop a business that affects such positive change in the lives of those I meet!
