About Justin Little

I am a biotechnology generalist with both product and R&D experience, both as a team leader and as an individual contributor. Across both academia and industry, I have led interdisciplinary teams of biologist, engineers, and clinicians to develop technical solutions in emerging markets, including neurotechnology and digital pathology. I have broad domain knowledge from working on a unique combination of topics, including sensory and systems neuroscience, digital pathology, optical brain-machine interfaces, advanced microscopy and image processing techniques, machine learning and neuronal computation. My excellent scientic and communication skills, and proven record of technical management, are well matched to both R&D and product-facing roles in neurotechnology, biomedical engineering, and medical device development.

Experience

  1. Research Project Manager

    NYU Langone Health

Jun 2025 — Present · New York, NY, US

I lead and provide strategic leadership for cross-functional clinical research initiatives in transplant surgery, xenotransplantation, and precision diagnostics, focused on understanding and predicting transplant rejection. I both oversee and develop multi-omic data science, advanced imaging, and clinical operations to enable next-generation molecular target identification for diagnostic and therapeutic monitoring in humans. •Direct multi-institutional programs combining spatial genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics to map cellular and molecular microenvironments in transplanted tissues.•Develop spatially resolved molecular atlases of xenograft and allograft rejection to identify predictive biomarkers of immune tolerance and human tissue rejuvenation.•Integrate cfDNA and snRNA liquid biopsy data with tissue-based spatial transcriptomic and proteomic datasets to create unified, multi-modal diagnostic frameworks.•Design and manage scalable, HIPAA-compliant data infrastructures for integrating multi-omic and clinical datasets across trials, pathology, and imaging cores. •Lead the adoption of AI-driven digital pathology and spatial omics pipelines, along with computational image analysis tools that link spatial molecular data with histopathological features.•Oversee development of automated tissue segmentation, multi-modal image-based, and deep learning models for detecting rejection, inflammation, and tissue regeneration.•Technical management of engineers, computational scientists, wet lab operations and pathologists to discover imaging-based biomarkers in both preclinical and clinical settings.
