As Grid Solutions Senior Specialist in the global R&D group I currently lead the development of Hitachi Energy\'s Grid eXpand portfolio for the North American market. • Lead the development of modularized & pre-engineered offerings for various applications including AIS & GIS grid connections, PV power collection packages, offshore wind, & mobile / skid mounted substations. • Utilize input from sales team & project lessons learned to optimize & improve current offerings. • Oversee & direct the engineering team in the creation and modification of various designs. • Solicit quotes for 3rd party equipment & services to create full cost models for specific offerings. • Visit supplier facilities to evaluate their processes & capabilities for potential partnerships on future Hitachi Energy opportunities. • Work with project controls to develop application specific schedules. • Evaluate customer RFP\'s and provide solutions from our current portfolio or work with proposal team to develop project specific solutions as needed. • Work with a multi-national team of engineers, managers, and industry experts to leverage Hitachi energy\'s broad global experience and industry expertise.
