ABOUT JUSTIN VENDETTUOLI

After teaching myself Python to have greater control of GIS processes and to automate project workflows, I found a sense of discovery and accomplishment that led me toward studying software development. Shifting into a software developer role is less of a transition and more of a natural adaptation. It is a continuation of my eternal drive to learn and a small tailoring of existing abilities to succeed in a new area.My previous professional experience ranges from fully designing and implementing natural science research experiments, leading a crew of four in conservation and restoration efforts, and heading up the wetland and GIS practices of an environmental consulting firm. These endeavors each presented unique challenges requiring a specific set of qualities. The techniques learned and the skills honed in these fields may at first seem disconnected, but they share a synergy that extends well beyond their individual components. It is the distillation of these experiences that affords me a diverse skill set, an adaptable nature, and the confidence with which to face all new challenges head on.Since gaining proficiency with full stack web development in Python and JavaScript, I have continued expanding my skill set. There is always going to be a new language or framework that builds upon past advances, and I am excited to see what comes next.
