Held the dual role of Head of Infrastructure & Functions Compliance and statutory role of DPO for Barclays. In these roles I was responsible for the design, implementation and oversight of the Infrastructure & Functions Compliance framework and the Data Privacy Framework across Barclays globally to ensure effective oversight, mitigate risk and drive good customer outcomes. From April 2022 the role became solely based on Privacy primarily to deliver the Group wide Privacy Transformation programme.Global Head of Infrastructure & Functions Compliance- Responsible for providing Compliance coverage to the Barclays Group service companies spanning the Infrastructure & Functions organisations including managing relations with senior management- Led a global team of circa 30 Compliance professionals providing regulatory advice and oversight to areas such as Treasury, Procurement, Chief Security Office, Cyber, Operations and Technology- Embedded Compliance framework across Infrastructure & Functions including risk assessments, monitoring programmes and oversight and reporting of risks and issues.Barclays Group Data Protection Officer- Developed and implemented the Group’s strategy and framework for Data Privacy, including the establishment and maintenance of effective processes and controls to mitigate Privacy risks- Led and delivered the Privacy Transformation programme, a significant group wide programme with Board oversight - included transferring accountability for Privacy risk from 2nd Line of Defence to 1st Line of Defence, ensuring the businesses appointed Data Privacy Accountable Executives, had appropriate governance and oversight of Privacy risks and issues, and were adequately resourced to discharge responsibilities- Primary point of contact and lead engagement for the UK Data Protection Authority (Information Commissioners Office) on issues relating to processing of personal data including regulatory complaints and breaches.
