About Justin Allen
Justin is a San Diego native where he resides, after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UC San Diego in 2010. Recently he joined Striim, Inc. in October 2014 as a senior engineer, leading projects for developing purpose built real-time streaming data analytic application on the Striim platform.Prior to joining Striim, Justin was a Software Engineer for Teradata from 2010 to 2014, contributing to feature development and R&D over four product release cycles as a part of the Query Grid team on the MongoDB and Hadoop connectors, a UI developer on Ecosystem Manager, and server infrastructure developer for Unity Director. Justin is passionate about engaging students in Computer Science to discover opportunities in Data Sciences, Software Development and Technology evangelism, and industry career advancement. While at Teradata he brought from concept to reality their first ever University Coding Competition and project lead for its debut at UCSD in 2013. He was able to expand on the initial success in a 2nd year to to include competitions at UCSD and Stanford in 2014.As a member of UCSD’s CSE Alumni Board, Justin is passionate about supporting students in realizing their ambitions as computer scientists and technologists, as well as overcoming current barriers facing underrepresented groups in STEM fields.
