Since 2004, Justin Monk, DES, CPD, PLBR has experience in designing plumbing, fire protection, medical gas and process piping systems. Many of those years he served as a licensed plumber for new construction, as a service technician and a project manager for plumbing and HVAC systems. He possesses a strong and comprehensive knowledge of IPC, UPC and NFPA codes and ASPE design standards for plumbing, fire protection and health-care systems. Mr. Monk is also well versed with design coordination of site utility, architectural, structural, electrical and HVAC.As a Design Principal and Leader, Justin responsibilities entailed being a Client Liaison and Business Development champion. He coordinates with client and industry leaders to achieve overall strategic goals for those clients and his firm. As a licensed Designer of Engineering Systems, Justin Monk signs and seals plumbing drawings, specifications, and calculations in the State of Wisconsin. He serves as a plumbing and fire protection design professional and technical subject matter expert, developed AIA contacts / proposals for clients (architect, contractors, and facility owners) and is responsible for the financial performance / project delivery of plumbing and fire protection projects with an average cost of construction:$3.5M.As a project manager, for plumbing and MEP, Justin excels in all phases of design (Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documentation) and Construction Administration. His designs markets range from Education (K-12 and Higher), Corporate, Multi-Family Apartments / Hospitality, Healthcare, Civic / Government (Local, State and Federal), Water Waste-Water Treatment Plants facilities. He performs existing building / facility code analysis, assessments, and reports. Justin serves as the lead designer for plumbing, fire protection and process piping systems and uses software tools such as Autodesk Revit, Microsoft Apps and various ERP platforms.As the Vice President of Technical for ASPE-WI, Justin serves on the Chapter\'s Broad of Directors with other plumbing industry professionals. His task as VP of Technical, are the planning, organizing, and directing the Chapter’s technical activities. He encourages ASPE-WI member\'s engagement and professional growth, which serves as a measure of the Chapter\'s success. As a mentor to other engineers and designers, Justin ensures that future leaders in the AEC industry are positioned to continue the success of the engineering practice and of its design standards.
