About Justin Hensley
I am currently a First Officer and Instructor/Check Airman at JetBlue in the Airbus A220. Former Part 135 Check Airman (Helicopter) and Part 135 Lead Pilot exercising Operational Control. Acting UAS Chief Pilot at Essential Aero providing UAS services directly to the FAA. Over the last few decades I have acquired thousands of hours as an instructor in helicopters, transport category airplanes and UAS, my first UAS operation was in 1996. For 14 years I enjoyed the privilege and challenge of operating an EMS Helicopter across the U.S. and overseas. My EMS helicopter career included flying multiple types of aircraft under IFR and NVG, Lead Pilot, AMRM Instructor and IFR/Night Vision Goggle Instructor / Check Airman. My first UAS operation was in 1996 and since then I have operated countless makes and models of UA. I have started three successful UAS businesses and still enjoy operating UAS today just as much as I did during that first operation back in June of 1996. As Chief Pilot for Essential Aero I enjoy the privilege of overseeing UAS operations that are provided to the FAA, often on-airport involving industry first COA\'s and COW. I am a mentor to countless manned and unmanned aviators and often donate my time to mentor and train Remote Pilots.
