The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner\'s role is to determine through comprehensive and objective investigation, cause and manner of death. The Medicolegal Investigator assists the Forensic Pathologist in making that determination by investigating the circumstances of death, the history of the decedent, and gathering materials and records.
