I\'m an experienced software engineer with a proven track record of shipping products. At Salesforce, I\'ve grown my team and scope every single year, including doubling my org size twice, coached/mentored and advanced the career of my directs, and successfully promoted them as well. My employee surveys are ranked the highest among managers in our entire org. Our team modernized a legacy profit-center product to work both on-prem and in HyperForce (AWS) at scale while measurably improving its security posture (FIPS 140-2 to -3), unlocking both contract value and cost savings. I\'ve done countless interviews, controlled and spent training budget, and advocated for women in engineering and our LGBTQI+ community.At Microsoft I owned the servicing stack for CE-based Windows Phone 7 through (completely rewritten NT-based) Windows Mobile 10. I\'ve worked with both internal and external partners, including Nokia, Ford, Qualcomm, Samsung, LG, HTC, and others. I\'ve interviewed well over a hundred candidates and have mentored several interns and new employees to help ensure their continued growth and success. I use my experience to bring a steady hand to a chaotic process and to help channel junior employees\' enthusiasm into productive, positive outcomes instead of one too many rookie teachable moments. My original focus was embedded systems (C/C++), which now extends to operating system software and imaging/packaging tooling (C#, perl, etc) as well for a fully integrated end to end solution.Outside of work I spend time with my wife, our son, and our 2 giant breed (St Bernard and Great Pyrenees) rescue dogs. I play hockey as both a player and occasionally a goalie, and officiate games as well (a good way to exercise both physical and mental judgement). I also work on a neverending stream of home improvement projects, and manage my investment properties. I collect hockey jerseys and wear a different one every day (I have one for every team and a few more.). I also refurbish computers donated to me and gift them back to the community (300+ desktops/laptops now). As a 10th generation French-Canadian I am a native speaker of both French and English.
