About Julia Silverman
Taking an interdisciplinary approach to psychology by basing my studies on the foundation of biology and organic chemistry, my academic career at UC Santa Barbara allowed me to delve into the world of behavioral neuroscience. My relevant academic coursework includes: Organic Chemistry, Biology, Life Science Statistics, Coding (programs R, Jupyter, SPSS, CMA), Social Psychology, Evolutionary Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, Behavioral Endocrinology, and Neuropharmacology.I am currently assisting Dr. Spencer-Rodgers to develop a meta-analysis on the Dialectical-Self Scale, a measure for determining trends in cultural psychology. Besides the meta-analysis, my work as a research assistant also includes reviewing manuscripts, peer review, and contributing my own knowledge to research articles. Through my studies at UC Santa Barbara in behavioral neuroscience, my curiosity turned inward towards my own human nature, and I discovered my curiosity for neurological and social aspects of psychology, resulting in my interest to become a behavioral neuropharmacologist.
