Inspect the programs, plans, training, exercises, and resources necessary to prepare emergency personnel to rapidly identify, evaluate, and react to emergencies, including those arising from terrorism or natural events such as hurricanes. Emergency Preparedness strives to ensure that nuclear power plant operators can implement measures to protect public health and safety in the event of a radiological emergency. Plant operators, as a condition of their licenses, must develop and maintain EP plans that meet NRC requirements.
