ABOUT JUNIA FREITAS

I am one of those curious professionals that have crossed various functional lines during my 20 year career: IT, Manufacturing, Finance, Site Operations, Customer Management, HR and Strategy. This breadth of experiences gives me a unique understanding of what makes programs or initiatives work, or not, in an organization. In the past few years I have focused in the intersection of Strategy and HR, creating the context and structures that enable a company\'s strategy to be executed by engaged and capable employees. I relate to that space as the art and science of performance and talent management, and I relate to myself as a High Performance Architect and Coach. I am excited to have the opportunity to apply my experience at Scotiabank, as part of the Global Talent Management team, in this new and exciting field of Talent Analytics. Some of my beliefs include:• High Performance is measured from the customers’ vantage point• The customer is not always right; the customer is always the customer• Poor Performance + a good reason is still Poor Performance. Be un-reasonable; no-excuses• What we can’t measure, we can’t manage• What we can’t manage, we can’t be accountable for• An excellent company has a declaration, a foundation of workability, and smart structures to align the work and to equip the employees to DO their best • Excellence is necessary but not sufficient for Greatness• Greatness is each individual BEING their best, bringing something uniquely theirs towards something they cannot do on their own• The path to our own Greatness is not a straight line• Great companies create the context, information, and access for employees to self-direct and own their own Greatness and development• A company is great when each employee stands for the greatness of all employees, and ultimately all its customers, clients and suppliers• Greatness is a “way of being”. • Greatness drives workability and High Performance
