About Junghae Suh

I am a builder of organizations and leader of technologists whose life\'s work is to create genetic medicines that can transform the lives of patients and their caregivers. I have 25+ years experience in genetic medicine, with 18+ years leading scientists and engineers inventing the future of biomedicine. I build asymmetric advantages with 1) the brilliant people we work with - both internal and external to an organization, 2) the breakthrough innovations needed to unlock the full potential of emerging modalities, and 3) the complex ecosystems vital to making non-linear advances become realities. Short Bio: Dr. Junghae Suh joined SV Health in 2025 as Entrepreneur in Residence focused on newco creation. Prior to SV Health, Suh served as Head of the Gene Therapy Accelerator Unit to develop transformative gene therapies for the treatment of neurological diseases. Suh received her S.B. in Chemical Engineering from MIT in and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2004. She then completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in the Laboratory of Genetics at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Prior to Biogen, she was a tenured member of the faculty in the department of Bioengineering at Rice University. She was awarded the NSF CAREER Award and the Outstanding New Investigator Award from the American Society for Gene and Cell Therapy for her innovative work on reprogramming viruses as therapeutic platforms. Her academic work was funded by the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, and the American Heart Association. Most recently, she was inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering College of Fellows.
