June Monroe is an attorney and director in Fennemore’s Irvine office, where she practices in the Agribusiness and Employment Law Practice Groups. She partners with business owners and executives to solve complex legal problems with practical, business-minded solutions.June’s career path gives her a grounded, real-world perspective. She began her legal career as a receptionist, advanced to a legal assistant, and—while working full time and raising two young children as a single parent—earned her law degree. That experience shapes how she practices today: focused, efficient, and deeply attuned to the realities her clients face.June represents agribusinesses across the full lifecycle of their operations, from entity formation to high-stakes disputes. She has extensive experience in federal district court and bankruptcy court enforcing produce suppliers’ rights under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA), recovering millions of dollars for clients in complex, multi-party matters. She also advises growers and marketers on secured transactions, including perfecting security interests in growing crops under the Uniform Commercial Code and the Federal Food Security Act.In addition to her agribusiness practice, June advises employers on employment and general business law matters. She represents companies in wage-and-hour litigation and government investigations before the U.S. Department of Labor and the California Labor Commissioner, and has successfully handled unemployment insurance appeals in multiple states. She regularly counsels employers on hiring practices, classification issues, wage and hour compliance, paid sick leave, protected leaves, layoffs, and terminations, and helps businesses implement practical policies and handbooks designed to reduce risk and avoid disputes.Outside of work, June enjoys painting on canvas and murals, baking, and cooking—creative outlets that reflect the same care and attention she brings to her legal practice.
