ABOUT JULIO MARTINEZ
Have worked in the heavy civil construction industry since 1995. From the onset of my career, I have performed a multitude of functions. In this industry, we are all drafted to wear many hats. I have worked in estimating and bidding for new work. I have also worked on scheduling, the management of subcontractors, suppliers, and in-house labor and equipment forces on the project level. Additionally, as with any good engineer, I have been known to perform some design calculations to solve the day-to-day problems that arise in the project level. From formwork, to support of excavations, to falsework, to crane analysis and foundations, to structural steel connections and detailing, etc. etc. Most, if not all, of those occasions are time sensitive and merit immediate attention. As always the \"now\", the \"right now\", and the \"I needed it yesterday\" have to be handled and that\'s what I and the rest of us on the project level were there to do. I have been fortunate to be involved on very interesting projects. From underground construction to rehabilitation of existing facilities, every project came with its unique challenges and served as valuable learning opportunities.
