About Julie Shade
Full-stack data scientist with over six years of experience leading the development and deployment of ML models underlying an FDA-cleared cloud-based web application for radiotherapy treatment planning, using the Microsoft Azure platform. Experienced with all stages of the clinical ML model lifecycle, from conceptualization and implementation to regulatory approval and real-world use.I completed my PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University in 2021. At JHU, I was the first researcher in the Computational Cardiology lab to apply machine learning to complement personalized computational cardiac modeling, developing precision medicine tools for cardiac arrhythmia risk stratification. In 2019, during my PhD, I joined Oncospace as a part-time researcher. At Oncospace, I developed a cloud-based machine learning platform to predict achievable patient-specific objectives for radiotherapy treatment planning, leading to FDA 510(k) clearance of an AI-driven prostate radiotherapy treatment planning application. I was a recipient of the prestigious Siebel Scholars award in 2021 and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship in 2018. After completing my PhD, I held a research faculty appointment in JHU’s Alliance for Cardiovascular Diagnostic and Treatment Innovation from 20••••22 before joining Oncospace full-time in March 2022.My technical skills include:Programming Languages: Python, R, MATLABDatabases: SQL Server, serverless SQL, CosmosDB, PostgreSQLCloud Services: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web ServicesTools: Microsoft Azure (Synapse Analytics, Azure Machine Learning), Amazon Web Services (SageMaker, Amazon Personalize), Spark, Slurm Workload Manager, Linux/Unix, GitData Science Libraries: pandas, scikit-learn, scikit-optimize, imblearn, pytorch, keras, tensorflow, tensorboard, fasttext, scipyData Visualization: seaborn, matplotlib, Adobe Illustrator, Power BIOther: project management, machine learning, deep learning, computational modeling, statistics, Agile development, scientific writing, cloud computing, big dataGoogle scholar: & hl=en
