This is a volunteer role organizing workshops and meetings for illustrator-members who are interested in working in the children\'s publishing industry. SCBWI (Society of Children\'s Book Writers and Illustrators) is a worldwide organization devoted to supporting the creation and availability of quality children\'s books in every region of the world. Through their awards, events, and publications, SCBWI gives established writers, illustrators, and translators the tools and resources to manage their careers, as well as educate those just starting out.

ABOUT JULIEN CHUNG
Julien Chung is a designer and illustrator who makes pictures for children’s books. His work is on products and books around the world—from milk glasses to piggy banks, from Reykjavik to Tokyo. Julien’s art is inspired by his favorite childhood comics, the bright, minimalistic colors of Henri Matisse, and quirky animals everywhere. He lives in Montreal with his wife, near a park with squirrels, woodpeckers, and deer. Julien likes to draw them all. With nine published books and several more in the works, Julien has earned accolades for his illustrations from 3x3 magazine, the American Society of Illustrators, Applied Arts, and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, to name a few. He is also serving as Illustration Coordinator for SCBWI (Society of Children\'s Book Writers and Illustrators) Canada East.
