About Julien Hector
As a West-Indian American and an advocate for progressive policy, I have dedicated my career to uplifting marginalized communities and challenging the status quo in U.S. foreign policy. With a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from American University, my experiences span diverse roles in government, international organizations, and advocacy groups. From working in nonprofits to Congress, I have consistently sought to amplify Afro-descendants in the larger Diaspora.Through my work with organizations such as the United Nations, the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the Institute for Policy Studies, I have engaged in crucial policy advocacy and research. My focus on issues like arms trafficking, sustainable labor practices, and the impact of militarism reflects my deep commitment to addressing systemic inequalities and promoting justice. My journey is informed by my experience as an immigrant from Grenada, and I am passionate about contributing to a more equitable and peaceful world. Whether advocating for progressive policies in Congress, supporting community initiatives, or conducting in-depth research, I desire to uplift marginalized voices and create lasting change.
