ABOUT JULIEN BARDIN

Challenge. If there was one word to best describe my work, my life, it would be challenge.During my French engineering school, I specialised into Organic chemistry and had the privilege to do 2 long trainings. I didn\'t choose to do them in France, but rather abroad, one in Netherland, the other one in Munich. That was a big challenge and I took lesson from it.For my first position, I switched from chemical engineering to sales and joined SurTec, a small but fast raising company, selling Surface Treatment chemicals. I didn\'t choose to do it in Paris, my hometown, but rather in Nantes, West of France. For 5 years I stayed there and enjoyed it a lot, servicing customers and prospecting new ones, across a large part of France. Then I received the honour from SurTec to help them start business in UK. I accepted, and closed my life in France to set it up, once again, in a new place. That was an amazing move. A big challenge for sure. Working abroad in tough, working and living abroad even more. Over there I switched company and accepted to join Brenntag as a partnership with Henkel, this time as BDM UK. Working for much larger company opened my eyes. A challenge again for sure, with so many lessons learned. And finally my last professional move was to go to Germany and work directly for Henkel, as BDM Europe. That was a very challenging move. Back in 2020, at the beginning of Covid, moving to the Headquarter of one of the largest chemical companies in the world, barely speaking German, it means closing everything in UK and reopening everything again in Germany. I\'m so glad I did it, it wasn\'t easy, for me and my family.Familywise, this is challenging too. We are a French/Chinese, married in UK, living in Germany, raising our children in English. What a great challenge. Again. From the beginning it looks impossible to do, and yet we are doing it. From a hobby point of view too, I love challenges: skydiving, marathons, cliff climbing, paragliding, cross mountains hiking. I did a lot, and there is so much more to do, so many other challenges, waiting to be done.So yes, definitely, challenge. You give me one, I will consider it, and the chances are, I will run for it. Professionally today as BDM, tomorrow as team leader, in Germany or elsewhere. Personally for fun across our world, for love with my family.
