Hunger Network ensures no one goes hungry and no food goes to waste. Incorporated as a grassroots nonprofit in 1995, we are the second-largest hunger relief and food recovery organization in Cuyahoga County serving over individuals each month. Hunger Network fights food inequity and injustice through a collaborative consortium of hunger centers, food donors and non-profit partners that serve our neighbors in need with dignity and compassion by providing them with accessible, healthy, and culturally relevant foods, hygiene items, and resources free of charge. Hunger Network’s environmentally conscious Food Rescue Program utilizes innovative app technology to recover fresh food and deliver it to nearby community distribution locations in under an hour.Major Accomplishments:• Relocated Hunger Network offices to a highly visible, easily accessible community space in Cleveland Ward 7, bordering Ward 5, where food insecurity is the highest in the City• Opened MidTown Market, a grocery-styled choice pantry that focuses on providing fresh and culturally relevant food options and online ordering capabilities• Expanded the Food Rescue Program to include food donors and recipients in Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain and Summit Counties• Acquired Hunger Network’s first refrigerated truck to deliver fresh produce and meat directly into underserved neighborhoods
