About Julie H.

Over 45 years of software engineering experience in a diverse range of fields including 20 years as an Operating System Internals programmer. Strong systems integration skills, from embedded data acquisition equipment to traditional and cloud-based servers. I spent seven years in the Renewable Energy industry, applying what I learned from 20 years as a systems programmer to Renewable Energy system monitoring and management. I\'m now doing BSP and security for building automation systems, primarily on ARM Cortex-M cores.I have been awarded over 50 United States Patents in the areas of Software Security, Network Protocols, Computer Hardware and Smart Grid technologies. In addition to my own Intellectual Property work, I\'ve mentored groups of Software Engineers in developing Intellectual Property and producing patentable ideas leading to two nominations as an IBM Master Inventor for the Austin site and an 11th Invention Achievement Award.In my spare time I\'ve focused on charitable work in education, housing and disaster relief. My primary focus as I move from full-time professional work towards eventual retirement is encouraging women and minorities to consider careers in STEM fields.
