ABOUT JULIE HASSEN
Eco-Psychology ~ Conservation Psychology ~ Environmental Justice ~ Climate Change ~ Nature Based Therapies Currently studying at the School for the Environment and Sustainability (SEAS), pursuing the Behavior, Education and Communication track to address global pollution, adaptation, and mitigation strategies. I am also pursuing a second master\'s degree in Social Work at UM\'s School of Social Work to combine mental and physical well-being with environmental stewardship. Healthy Body + Healthy Mind + Healthy Connection to Place = Healthy Behaviors & Healthy Planet. Sustainability infuses all parts of life. Our conservation efforts depend on a variety of situations, life experiences, and thus the lens with which we see the world. I am interested in what those parameters are and how to help support conservation-minded choices. Conservation Psychology is a field that helps give us infrastructure to define this. When a person spends time in nature, there are psychological and physiological improvements to one\'s well-being. This is beneficial to the individual and their interactions within their communities and within their environments. How can we enhance stewardship and well-being at the same time?
