ABOUT JULIE GUERRERO SCHOR
As a nonprofit business operations expert, I am deeply passionate about the role that smooth, efficient organizational operations play in helping social impact organizations advance their missions. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed using my financial and program management experiences to implement systems and processes to achieve measurable results. I started working in nonprofit business operations right after graduate school at a small community development corporation in West Philadelphia. While working on a variety of assignments, including reporting on our use of federal community development funds, I saw how critical accurate reporting and process management were to ensuring that the organization\'s funding would be renewed. This helped me to realize how I could use my expertise to support social impact organizations. I’ve been privileged to lead business operations for organizations of various sizes from helping a small start-up nonprofit develop and implement its first-ever strategic plan to serving as a lead contributor to a program’s transition from a national nonprofit to a large research university. Some of my contributions to organizational excellence that I’m most proud of include: As the first center operations director for the Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population at the Urban Institute, being recognized for leading a high-performing operations team with oversight of $14M+ in federal and philanthropic awards to support advances in workforce development, child policy, child welfare, and financial security. Being appointed to serve as co-leader of the Aspen Institute\'s DEI Council and advising and assisting in the creation of a new VP position focused on DEI. Successfully completing Georgetown University McDonough School of Business advanced management education program focused on how to bolster and manage revenue for growth, covering topics such as donor advised funds, earned revenue, and foundation funding.Serving as a lead contributor to the Black Wealth Data Center’s transition from Prosperity Now to Johns Hopkins University, ensuring legal transfer of rights, contractual obligations, and business assets.
