ABOUT JULIE JAMES

Through my writing, and by presenting to audiences large and small, I have developed close relationships to assist individuals in times of change or crisis. My multicultural, multidisciplinary background gives me the perspective and adaptive skills necessary for our changing world. In varied roles, I analyzed systems and explained how they work for the people who needed them. I listen to people and their stories, then help them interpret what they want and can do in their situation. I have reached out to providers and policy-makers, both to hear their experiences and to share the stories. We can break down customer experience into action steps for quality improvement. My experience comes first from a deep love of cross-cultural understanding and expression, then from my children and my subsequent crash course in healthcare and disability. I developed deep and hands-on knowledge and experience in administering long-term services and supports. I have never lost my love for words and language, and I am passionate about bringing my skills to help people cross boundaries of all sorts. Both personally and professionally, I have advocated for high-quality healthcare, both at the individual and the policy level. I have collaborated with individuals, hospitals, medical practices, and the community to make participatory healthcare a priority. My work in consular services and international business broadened my analytical expertise to global work, diplomacy, immigration, and cross-cultural advocacy and communication. I have been devoted throughout my life to working on crossing boundaries, whether they be actual borders between countries, or obstacles to everyday life and work. I am available for consultation on visas, business plans for visas, translation or localization services, and writing. I have helped many individuals and companies translate their ambitions and dreams in the US, and I welcome the opportunity to help you, too!
