About Julie Blackburn

Adept in explaining complex statistical theory and hypothesis testing to a broad audience - as well as team building, project planning and design, and data analysis from munging to interpretation. Using tools such as R and Azure ML, I love to generate solutions to puzzles and develop new strategies to help my clients tip the competitive odds in their favor. My supervisors and colleagues would describe me as a strong leader known for tenacity, professionalism, and a proactive attitude. I’m fully fluent in technologies and tools relevant to Data Science, including but not limited to R, Python, SQL, Azure ML, Hadoop, Apache Spark, and many others.    Managed staff of eighteen employees. This included Senior and Junior Software Developers, Product Managers, QA, and an Analytics Analyst- Lead projects for clients with both internal and external teams. Managed multiple conflicting priorities and set client expectations. Lead team Scrum meetings, followed Agile principles, documented project scope and architecture via wireframes, ERDs, and user flow tools- Performed data analytics, and created predictive models for clients primarily in the Life Sciences industry. Some Project Highlights- Produced logic around hypertension algorithms featuring patient data. These algorithms assisted clinicians to predict best medication titration- Developed dynamic reports for patient data with logic around weight management, and blood pressure trends- Created dynamic data visualization reports with areas of focus including patient data, practitioner metrics, utilization optimization, and health code billing- Architected dashboards with live data feeds for key metrics used for data validation and testing- Ongoing support for application development for a web application created by Blackburn Labs. Google Data Studio Analytics reporting with measurable benefits to the community. Targets are based on demographic segmentation, acquisition, and behavior.
