About Julie Spitzley

Julie began her career in health science/wellness in the mid-90’s. Her focus was on scientific research and entrepreneurship. She has worked in cardiac rehab for the aging population, and as a health/wellness scientist she has done on-piste research for the US Ski Team, on-ice research for the National Canadian Speed Skating team, fitness testing for several NHL players, and program development for several professional athletes and high-end clientele. Her experience led her to the Vail Valley, CO where she was the Wellness Director and later the Spa Director for a nationally acclaimed spa. She oversaw a team of 90 employees, continued creating personal fitness/wellness programs for clientele from around the world and was part of the team that redesigned the spa. While there, Julie learned more about holistic approaches to health and wellness and began to incorporate them into her programs and daily life. She created Wellness Hut Trips, taking advantage of the nearby 10th Mountain Division Hut System in the Rockies. The itinerary included: backcountry/high elevation hiking, yoga, Pilates, tincture making from native plants, sauna, massage, gourmet healthful meals, and an extremely casual atmosphere that made all feel free of life’s stresses. With her connections in the ski industry, Julie was asked to help in operations with MT Imports which brought high-end technical and fashionable Italian made outdoor wear to the United States. She gained more experience in business and international business nuance while there. In 2003, Julie and her husband started Storm Mountain Coffee Roasters near Steamboat Springs, CO: a wholesale company focused on creating handcrafted, perfectly roasted coffee chosen from the best plantations. Within the first few months they learned two important things about the industry: 1) coffee was healthful, but the additives were not. 2) there were no commercial brewers that made the coffee as velvety, flavorful, and healthful as nature intended. In an effort to improve coffee in the industry, and also keep wellness in mind, Julie created Bravura Press. It is an important piece of the beverage industry, especially now, as it creates a way to brew fuller flavor, velvety texture, and higher nutrient levels. It has been ahead of its time in the health and wellness category of food and beverage. Bravura avoids the chemical flavors and can wholly infuse natural and healthful ingredients into the beverage, offering the customer noticeably more elegant options in beverages, while simultaneously improving menus & revenue!
