Julie Simons graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Honors in English from Stanford University and also earned an MA in English from Stanford. She did graduate work at University of Pennsylvania as a Penn Scholar. Ms. Simons taught high school English at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania and was a freshman writing instructor at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Miami. In 2008 Ms. Simons founded GirlFuture, a 501c3 nonprofit that provides cutting-edge educational and empowerment programming to girls in southeast Florida. Through GirlFuture, Ms. Simons has worked with hundreds of girls and their families as well as with many independent schools in Palm Beach County, the School District of Palm Beach County, and dozens of girl-serving organizations in South Florida. She is the mother of three children, including a daughter who will be a member of the class of 2020 at Brown University. Passionate about helping people believe in themselves, set goals, and reach their potential, Ms. Simons is thrilled to be a Director of College Counseling for ICC.Headquartered in Hollywood, FL, International College Counselors (ICC) has set a new standard in the college advising business through a personal, one-on-one approach. With competition for acceptance to colleges and universities at an all time high, ICC advisors have found this to be the most effective way of maximizing a student’s potential. Our approach allows the counselors to get to know each student\'s strengths, weaknesses and passions and his or her family. This holistic evaluation gives us the insight we need to match individuals with the best possible schools. Advisors at ICC have collectively visited over 200 colleges and universities. We have expertise working with students of all backgrounds including Ivy League bound students, student athletes, fine art majors, international students, students with special needs and students who are the first one in their family to go to college.

Julie Simons is an experienced college counselor with a proven track record who loves helping students find \"best fit\" colleges where they will thrive and succeed. A Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), Julie approaches working with students to help them define and reach their goals for college and beyond as a tremendous privilege. Having lived through the college process with her three children, she understands firsthand the stress for students, parents, and entire families and is dedicated to helping you manage the process with empathy and laughter.
