About Julie Schwartz
I am an experienced litigator who primarily handles business and consumer protection litigation for internet, technology, and social media companies, including under the Communications Decency Act, the First Amendment, and federal and state privacy laws. I also help manage the firm’s Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) compliance group. In particular, I lead teams that counsel service providers on data security issues and third-party requests for information, both in the civil and criminal defense context. I also manage teams that handle third-party requests for information in the corporate records context. I frequently appear in state and federal courts in California and throughout the country to argue issues stemming from these requests for service providers. I have particular expertise in California law as it applies to nonparty discovery.In addition, I maintain an active California Proposition 65 law (Prop 65) compliance and dispute resolution practice. I have successfully settled numerous Prop 65 disputes for clients in the consumer product space.
