ABOUT JULIE ROMANOSKY
I’m a User Experience & Design Researcher with 6+ years of experience in consumer hardware and software, specializing in qualitative methods. I have end to end UX research experience – from recruitment to presenting findings – and have performed research at all stages of the product life cycle. My strengths include usability and accessibility assessments, as well as developing research roadmaps and conducting large scale research as part of pre-launch evaluations like private access or developer betas. In 2020, I led PlayStation’s first-ever internal beta to prepare for the PS5 launch. This project combined surveys, interviews, and observational research to uncover performance issues and prioritize pre-launch fixes, ensuring a seamless user experience at launch. My insights shaped critical pre-release decisions and influenced the priorities of post-launch improvements. While at Apple, I have contributed to the development of core experiences such as input on VisionPro and Apple Watch 9. Through interviews and observations I defined user behaviors and mental models of the tap gesture introduced in WatchOS 10 which informed interaction design choices for the UI and led to improvements in the gesture recognition algorithm. For the next chapter in my career I am seeking a remote or flexible RTO Senior User Research role in the San Francisco Bay area where I can lead product research strategy. I thrive in cross-functional collaboration, using qualitative insights to build customer empathy, guide long-term research planning, and support PM, Engineering, and Design teams in making informed decisions.
