Responsible for federal and state policy monitoring and advocacy efforts. Developed and manage the Prevention Alliance, a statewide cross-sector prevention coalition. Writes a weekly newsletter, Health Policy News, during the Washington State legislative session and special editions as needed in the interim. Managed the Washington State Public Housing Tobacco Network. Achieved the voluntary adoption of no-smoking policies in 35 of 38 Washington State public housing authorities. Led RFP development that successfully resulted in a contract award from the Washington State Department of Health to reduce smoking in low income populations. Provide training and technical assistance to organizations and communities on advocacy and legislative policy issues. Community and programmatic convening support and coordination.Serve on the policy, leadership, and steering committees of the Southwest Washington Healthy Living Collaborative (HLC), Washington State Public Health Association (WSPHA), and the Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition (COPC).
