ABOUT JULIE MCDONALD

I am a Solicitor and Sole Practitioner specialising in Family Law, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. I founded Julie McDonald Family Law in November 2013 and offer professional affordable legal services to clients in Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and the surrounding area. I read law at University of Cambridge, Lucy Cavendish College, gaining a BA in Law in 2005 and an MA in 2009. I have maintained strong links with my college and in September 2013 was elected President of the Alumnae Association committee. After Cambridge I studied at the College of Law in London to obtain my Legal Practicing Certificate in 2007 with Distinction. During my training as a Solicitor I gained experience in Employment, Commercial Property and Company Law. In 2008 I qualified as a solicitor to specialise in Family Law. I am a member of Resolution. Prior to qualifying as a Solicitor I worked as a Financial Controller and Office Manager of a multi-national computer software company. My specialist areas of work include- Separation - Divorce - Dissolution of Civil Partnerships - Financial matters arising out of separation and divorce - Issues concerning children - Child Arrangement Orders and permission to remove from the jurisdiction - Child Maintenance - Pre-marital agreements - Post-marital agreements - Co-habitation agreements - Domestic violence - Injunctions - Wills - Lasting Powers of Attorney - Court of Protection applications - Living Wills Away from the office, I regularly visit the theatre and I am a Friend and Ambassador of the Theatre Royal Norwich and Supporter of the Arts Theatre Cambridge. I also enjoy playing and watching tennis and have recently started tap dancing.
