My role is to manage a team of technical support scientists based out of our Middleton, Wisconsin and Novato, California sites. My teams support custom nucleic acid products and their diverse applications, from qPCR and SNP genotyping to single cell sequencing and RNA FISH. We also support oligo synthesis reagents, enzymes, extraction and purification reagents, competent cells, NGS library prep, and gene editing technologies. As an enthusiastic advocate of these applications I develop technical training programs and help others develop skills that will allow them to represent LGC, Biosearch Technologies and our core vision to support \"Science for a Safer World\".

ABOUT JULIE MANGADA
With over 15 years of experience leading global teams in technical support and training, I bring a passion for life sciences and genomics to every role. I\'m known for my knack for integrating cross-functional teams, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving process improvements in dynamic environments. My dedication to fostering collaboration and implementing scalable support solutions has been recognized with accolades like the Visionary Woman of the Year award by the North Bay Business Journal in 2016.My journey in immunology began with my doctoral research, where I explored the molecular mechanisms of autoimmunity and their connection to transplantation tolerance induction. In 2008, I joined the Buck Institute for Research on Aging as a Post-Doctoral researcher in Dr. Xianmin Zeng\'s lab. There, I ventured beyond my PhD studies, working with hESC and their differentiation into neurons for cell replacement therapies. This led to the creation of an MRI-based imaging platform to study transplanted dopaminergic neurons in a Parkinson\'s Disease model.In 2010, I joined Dr. Judith Campisi\'s lab, blending my immunology background with hESC research to explore stem cell epigenetics, genetic erosion, and DNA repair mechanisms in cell replacement therapies. Alongside my research, I am passionate about community outreach and education. I spearheaded several dynamic outreach programs at the Buck Institute, working with local education offices, the GATE program, and serving on various advisory committees. Through public speaking and visits to the Learning Center, I have brought enthusiasm for science to over people annually, believing that science is the golden thread that connects all aspects of our society.
