ABOUT JULIE KULOVITS

A seasoned attorney with 17 years of experience, Julie has focused her career on representing associations and nonprofit organizations. Julie is currently General Counsel and Vice President, Legal Affairs at the American Osteopathic Association where she is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and implementation of the organization\'s legal affairs. She is also a member of the organization\'s Senior Leadership Team and understands the practical aspects of operating a large, complex, membership-based organization. Prior to her current role, Julie was Counsel at Tenenbaum Law Group, PLLC, a DC-based and nationally recognized boutique law firm with an exclusive focus on representing tax-exempt organizations. In this role, Julie worked with her clients\' senior staff and volunteer leadership to assist each in navigating a variety of legal and operational issues. Julie has also served as General Counsel at the North American Spine Society and spent several years as a litigator. Julie graduated summa cum laude and first in her class from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2006. She also has her B.A. in Business Administration from Augustana College. Julie is an active member in the association community and is a member of the Association Forum of Chicagoland, the American Society for Association Executives (previously serving on its Legal Advisory Council and Finance and Business Operations Council), TEGE Exempt Organizations Council, and the Council for Medical Specialty Societies\' General Counsel Component Group. She has also written publications and presented on a wide variety of topics related to her work.
