About Julie King

Upon graduating from The University of Alabama with a BS in Chemical Engineering, I spent eight years in the Environmental Engineering field managing site assessment and petroleum contamination cleanup projects. I transitioned to the natural gas industry with Alagasco (now Spire) in 2011. I enjoy building relationships and providing technical solutions to ensure the health and longevity of our communities fueled by clean, efficient natural gas.

1. Sustainability Specialist

   Spire

   May 2025 — Present

   Directs collection and evaluation of data for measurement, tracking, and reporting for GHG emissions from all Spire business operations. Including:o Emissions modeling, quantification, and forecasting.o Validation and verification according to recognized standards.• Develops and supervises protocols for a measurement informed inventory of emissions for all relevant emissions sources at Spire.• Provides guidance to senior leadership on federal, state, and local regulations that affect emissions tracking and reporting.• Provides expertise to functional and business unit leadership to identify opportunities for emissions reductions. • Administers carbon credits for all business units, including administration of EPA accounts and coordination of business unit activities with carbon credit vendors.
