About Julie Harvie
I\'ve spent the past decade mastering all things vibration. At Sandia, my role was primarily dedicated to designing shock and vibration qualification tests for aerospace components and subsystems. At VIBES, I planned and executed technical projects to solve Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) problems using dynamic substructuring and transfer path analysis. In both roles, I was fortunate to do both testing (using accelerometers, impact hammers, shakers, DAQs) and analysis (using MATLAB and VIBES software).Aside from my technical involvement, my interpersonal skills are notably strong; I thrive in a team environment and have interfaced with a worldwide customer base. I\'m also skilled at generating media (PowerPoints, videos, articles, etc.) that communicate technical findings in an approachable manner.I sit on the Executive Board for the Society of Experimental Mechanics as well as the Advisory Board for the International Modal Analysis Conference (IMAC). My proactive engagement in this community includes the following: creating the Dynamic Environments Testing Technical Division, generating the Boundary Condition Challenge Problem and BARC hardware, planning future conferences, participating as a panelist in several panels, and organizing a panel promoting diversity and inclusion.
