About Julie Degarmo

I am a mission-driven fundraising and marketing professional motivated by a desire to put strong relationship-building skills to use to do good. My passion lies in developing genuine partnerships by engaging and inspiring key stakeholders and building enduring and mutually beneficial relationships to maximize impact and revenue.After enjoying a successful sales career in the publishing industry working for some of the biggest brand names in the business (Vogue, Real Simple, Shape), five years ago I was able to parlay my experience in increasing revenue, building new business, and cultivating strong partnerships into working to drive social impact by advancing education equity. Heading up the Corporate Partnerships team at Jumpstart for Young Children, I managed our top corporate funders and the Local Advisory Board. I also led our annual global literacy campaign, Read for the Record, engaging over 2 million participants each year. I have been told by clients and colleagues that my enthusiasm for the causes that I work for is infectious - whether by presenting a compelling and inspiring case for support to funders or working internally to ensure organizational alignment. This allows me to effectively build consensus and excitement among funders, partners, and peers, and I credit my strong communication skills, instinct for collaboration, and true commitment to social impact. I am eager to put this energy to work for greater good!
