Work with Chief Actuary on projects including cost impact analysis of proposed legislation, actuarial policy changes. Utilize my strong communication and presentation skills to represent CalPERS at conferences/webinars, meetings with other government departments and legal hearings. Supervise team of actuarial technicians- Drafted new amortization & smoothing policy adopted by CalPERS Board in April 2013- Conduct the actuarial review of several Risk Pools- Member of team preparing CalPERS initiative for implementation of GASB 67 and GASB 68- Created communications materials on CalPERS process for terminating pension plans- Worked collaboratively with other actuaries in the 4 yearly actuarial assumption experience study- Made presentations at CalPERS annual Education Forum, County Finance Directors’ Bimonthly meeting on current pension issues, CalCPA Continuing Education Conference on recent CalPERS developments.
