About Julianna Smith

Through the intersection of professional business and relational connection, I am a curious learner and driven leader. The Brock School of Business has equipped me with a broad background within the business setting; my classes include a depth of practical skills, and small group discussions facilitate conversation regarding the influence of current events within business fields. I’ve gained qualifying experience through internships within both small and large companies. Republic Airways provided a professional, corporate job that allowed me to work within a small group alongside the accounts payable team, and I spoke individually with leaders within finance, human resources, marketing, and supply chain fields. At Navigate Wealth Management, I was given intentional instruction by two CFAs who led me through various tasks allowing me to take initiative as I utilized Excel, created PowerPoints, and sent daily transaction summaries. At Somerset Advisory, I had the privilege of working at a wealth management and financial planning firm that actively serves their clients through authentic relationships and comprehensive strategies.As an undergraduate student, I’ve had the honor of representing Samford University at the Public Choice Outreach Conference 2023 in Washington, DC; I attended lectures by leaders in the field and engaged in conversation with professionals from abroad. Additionally, I represented Samford at the Alpha Lambda Delta national conference in Tampa, FL; I worked in small groups and presented group research. To continuously foster my application of studies, local involvement, and global comprehension, I\'ve served in various leadership roles across campus and additionally studied abroad. On campus, I served as the New Member Education Assistant in Chi Omega, and I participate in Finance and Economics Women, Phi Kappa Phi, and Samford’s Recruitment Team. Going abroad, I’ve had the privilege to grow in global understanding through term classes in Dublin, Ireland and London, England. Within the Birmingham community, I have been involved in Auburn Community Church and then Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church. This has given me a vast support system as I participated in a multigenerational community group, volunteered biweekly, and served with the outreach team. I have also worked with nonprofits in the city to meet the tangible needs of the surrounding area. To practically serve my local community, I continuously seek opportunities to apply business skills, engage in global conversations, and promote community outreach.
