ABOUT JULIANNA MOLINA
I am a fifth-year student studying Aerospace Engineering at San Diego State University. I am a Manufacturing Engineer in Rocket Project, an on-campus organization that builds and launches liquid and solid rockets. Our current project, Kárman San Diego, aims to break our previous altitude record and reach ft at this year’s FAR/MARS Rocketry Competition. Additionally, I am an active member of organizations such as the Society of Women Engineers, Women of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the American Institution of Aeronautics and Astronautics, just to name a few. These organizations and teams have undeniably supported my collaborative and networking abilities, as I engage with individuals, but most importantly women, from all over and of various cultural backgrounds. As a biracial woman in this field, I seek to break cultural barriers and inspire other young women to also pursue STEM pathways. As a current Virgin Galactic scholarship and mentorship recipient, I have been reminded of the reason I chose this field of study. Not only have I always been intrigued by the mysteries of space, but it is also my dream to build spacecraft that could be sent to another planet or retrieve information that could change our view of the universe.
