The Hasso Plattner Foundations aims to preserve and make accessible the rich heritage of art and culture, fostering a deep appreciation and understanding among the public. Our research and scholarship efforts contribute to the advancement of art and cultural knowledge. These efforts are most visible in our five key projects and initiatives in the Art & Culture focus area:• Museum Barberini – The museum with focus on impressionist and modern art has welcomed more than 2.5 million visitors since its opening in 2017, offering world-class temporary exhibitions with major international loans. A highlight is the Hasso Plattner Collection, featuring 115 impressionist masterpieces – including 40 by Claude Monet.• DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam – Opened in 2022, the museum bridges modern and contemporary art, fostering dialogue and openness through its distinctive architecture and international programming. Its explore the intersection of East German art with global contemporary perspectives.• Wildenstein Plattner Institute – The research institute in New York and Paris advances digital art historical research, cataloging, and provenance studies.• Navigating.art – Navigating.art develops novel technologies to ease the creation of digital catalogues raisonnés and archives for global audiences, thereby increasing the availability of historical materials and lowering the barrier to comprehensive research.• TALES – TALES is a non-profit, multi-media production and publishing initiative dedicated to using the power of multimedia storytelling to encourage a deeper understanding and appreciation of our shared humanity and the planet we call home.
