About Julian Chiveral

Licensed Mechanical Engineer in the MEP industry with a keen focus on sustainable design and energy efficiency. I am honing my skills in designing systems that not only meet the functional requirements of buildings and their occupants, but also contribute to reducing overall environmental impact and promoting sustainability, health, and wellness. My goal is to be a subject matter expert and advocate for best practices on how we operate the built environment.Buildings are a major contributor to climate change with an estimated 28% of total CO2 emissions annually. Building mechanical systems (HVAC and DHW) are responsible for more than half of those emissions. So, there\'s plenty of room for improvement. I’ve helped design LEED-certified schools and universities, renovate the Smithsonian headquarters, and performed my fair share of calculations.
