About Julian Bryant

I currently split my time between practicing estate planning and probate law and as a software developer. I’ve found over the years that programming and law practice compliment each other very well as both involve detailed thinking in logic-based systems. Contracts are basically English language social software programs. In 2022, I returned to practicing law after spending a little over 10 years focused on software development as an iOS app programmer. I have always had an interest in law and technology. After graduating from Georgetown Law, it seemed natural to work as a lawyer for tech startups in venture capital. However, I didn\'t really enjoy the daily experience of that work. Meeting with clients and finding innovative ways to help them meet their goals is great. But many of the lower-level tasks are tasks I think are perhaps better first approached via AI models. This is an approach I take with my private practice - looking for ways to take advantage of technology while protecting sensitive data. This enables me to better serve clients and bring the enjoyment back to legal practice.I like exploring how mobile devices and technology can change the way we work and play (be sure to check out the \"Projects\" section). I usually have at least one app I\'m working on personally, as well as any work I\'m doing for clients. My most recent client has been ACE Parking where I helped redesign and develop their consumer and enterprise apps.I also volunteer as a community organizer and event facilitator with Startup Weekend. I really enjoy the idea that people can pursue their dreams through entrepreneurship. I spend time helping build entrepreneurial communities and turning people on to the idea that they can shape their own futures and pursue their dreams. Finally, I like to travel. I spent about seven years living in Japan and am a pretty advanced Japanese speaker. I also spent some time living in Mexico, Spain,(intermediate Spanish skills) and Thailand as well.
