ABOUT JULIANA SUBU
As a junior at Virginia Tech pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Pamplin College of Business, I am focused on developing expertise in event planning, sales, and operations within the hospitality industry. I currently serve as a Hospitality Committee Member for the Business Horizons Career Fair, where I help coordinate logistics for a large-scale event hosting over 120 companies and attendees, including managing catering and supporting volunteer teams to ensure seamless execution. I am also actively involved in the Dean’s Advisory Board of Students as an Apprenticeship, collaborating with students, faculty, and alumni to enhance engagement and professional development opportunities. This summer, I will join Newport Hospitality Properties as a Sales Intern, supporting the Hyatt Place and Residence Inn in Blacksburg, Virginia, where I will assist with client relationship management, sales reporting and analytics, meeting coordination, and the development of presentations and proposals. Combined with my experience in the food and beverage industry and certifications in Cvent, ServSafe, and TIPS, I bring strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills, and I am committed to creating exceptional guest experiences.
